I've added an interactive Cantha map to the guild website. Click it, drag it, zoom it. Enjoy. (Note: requires Macromedia Flash.)

That's sweet! I definately like it. I don't suppose there's a way to enlarge the window is there? I run 1600x1280 and the window is fairly small...

Yeah, I can rig that up, I think. I'll offer it in both flavors.

Anet has announced an Elite event for this weekend, for those of you who enjoy the hard slog:
"This coming weekend offers special bonuses for players who enjoy missions, roleplaying, and unique items. Factions players will be granted access to all Canthan elite missions the entire weekend via an NPC in Kaineng Center. In addition, there will be double rare loot drops within Canthan Elite Missions during the weekend! This exciting weekend will begin on Friday, August 4, at 12:01 a.m. PDT (07:01 GMT) and will end Sunday, August 6, at 11:59 p.m. (that's Monday, August 7 at 06:59 GMT). We hope to see you there!"
I'm unsure if "granted access" means granted for free.

What is an "Elite Mission" and how does it differ from the standard mission?

Elite missions are Much Much harder to play. They usually take certain builds for your characters to beat them. They have higher level creatures to fight also. Try to imagine playing TK or Hell's Precipice with the creatures levels all at around 24 to 30, and high health regen.

3|173 m15510n5 r3qu1r3 3v3ry0n3 70 7yp3 |1k3 7h15. I can barely read it, I sure can't type it. Guess that's why I don't know what one is. Elite missions are Much Much harder to play. Try to imagine playing TK or Hell's Precipice with the creatures levels all at around 24 to 30, and high health regen. I don't think I've ever seen one like that. How do you normally get to an elite mission? This is the first I've heard of them...

You can get to "The Deep" out of Cavalon, you need to ask for a Ferry to the Deep in local chat. Sometimes they are not ferrying though. In House Zu Heltzer you can be ferried to "Urgoz". Both of these are considered Elite missions and are very hard to do and take some time to do. The only way to do them with any speed is to go in knowing what to expect. Red has experience in both places and I myself have been in The Deep a couple of times. The second time we beat it, with Red's help and expertise of course!

3|173 m15510n5 r3qu1r3 3v3ry0n3 70 7yp3 |1k3 7h15. Ooo! Oooo!!! A hard one to solve! I'll type it into the Vax-9000 Super computer using the R.A.I.N (Required Artificial Intellegent Neurorecognizer) theory patter recognizer with 8,364,293 as the initial prime seed, and the elite series pattern 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42. Using something like Dr. Yar Missions descramblifier results in all the words words above appearing in this paragraph. Everyone try hard to find them. Circle them for credit.

Elite missions take 12 people as well. And you need all 12!

12 people! That should be quite an adventure...
When you "Open" an elite mission, do you get a map point so that you can always go back?

Post by bainsoulsmite on Jul 31, 2006 16:36:58 GMT -5
No. There are conditions that have to be met in order to get there (ie control of certain city, I believe)...unless it is an Anet event Leastwise I did not get a map point when I got a ferry to Urgoz's. It is my understanding that once you are in the mission start point, you can go to the GH and form a party there then leave GH back to start point, but everyone in the party has to have been to the point at least once before.. I am not 100% on this though, maybe someone else has more info?

How fun! I've never done either elite mission. And I'm actually in town this weekend. Let's plan some trips! Anyone have some builds we should be looking at? We need Red!

Would love to do either Urgos or the Deep again. Someone put a date on the calandar for a run in one or both on one of the weekends. Maybe we can get a good party together for it with Red at the Helm!

Maybe we can get a good party together for it with Red at the Helm! Sounds fun 12 person parties are a fun addition I think, although looks interesting, maybe some of you gaming geeks can look into this build with a view of augmenting it to a 6 person build to make it faster and more failure proof. A good 12 person build for the Warren is: 1 Necro Bip for Heal Party spamming and renewal nukers 1 Mecro MM or SS >>can sub with a 2nd Ele 1 Rit Lord/ Restoration>>can sub with 3rd Monk 2 Monks w/ Heal party 1 Renewal Nuker 6 Full Trappers 2 with lvl 9-10 EoE or for a faster run B/P has become the rage: 1 Necro Bip for Heal Party spamming and renewal nukers 1 Rit Lord/ Restoration>>can sub with 3rd Monk 2 Monks w/ Heal party 2 Renewal Nuker 6 B/P w/ Dust Trap- Spirits and 2 w/ lvl 9-10 EoE Sorry... leave all Warriors and Assasins back at the pub
