I found this article via Slashdot. From the article: Is it that bad out there? I'd say it's close.

My friend watches the forums for WOW. It really is that bad. Anytime someone posts, theres a group of 10 people who find the cruelest, meanest attacks and post them. Threads dont go anywhere unless these guys consent, and theres no moderators to slow or stop them.

Used to be, back in the day, we blamed all that on the AOL'ers... now I'd have to say these miscreants have mostly snuck out of the bloggosphere and brought their flame-retardant suits with them on their adventure into the wild unknowns of the World Wide Web

it use to be I would turn on the local chat and try to help folks who had questions - anymore I can't though -- I just get angry at the hate that spews forth from some of the kiddos.
That's why having and being in a good alliance is important now more than ever.

I was pleased to find out about this little gem. Lots of additional stuff on the net about it but check out: www.starcraft2.com

Hell. It's about time!
I hope they do a better job than C&C did on the current revision. I found that C&C 3 looks real cool and detailed, but a true strat players don't want to sacrafice detail for ability to see the broad picture.

Bull @#$*! I will never support EA in any way or fashion ever again... They showed thier dedication and appreciation to me and thousands of other gamers a few years back when they yanked Earth and Beyond en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth_&_Beyond out from under us because they wanted to put more energy and resources into the The Simms Online release. Even after months of petitions and private interests trying to obtain the release and rights to the platform/ game to carry it on EA just decided to sit on it in turn implying we could do the same... I, among many, was there in the ship that I had put many hours/ days/ months +++ into develping and leveling when EA pulled the plug..."You have lost connection with the sever." www.secondlifeherald.com/slh/2004/03/ea_pulls_plug_o.htmlEA can eat my shorts, and anyone cosidering enableing or backing any of EA's endeavors should be aware of what they really think of thier subscribers.

Well something good did come from it. Even though I lost a good guild, good friends and a couple cool chars with max lvl60 uber ships that could have gone for $700 to $1000 each on Ebay (lol a guildie sold a trader/ builder for $1,500 on Ebay 2 weeks before shutdown announcement), I did find Beguine and GW Lol most of my old guild from EnB (SoD...Symphony of Destruction) went to WoW But yes..very sore spot...what if Anet made the same announcement next week? Where is thier home office again??? We'd be in thier parking lot the next morning setting our mini pets to thier heels

I second that! What would BGN do without Red?

What would BGN do without Red? Without Red, you are left with yellow and blue and that makes green. Mr Yuck is green so that would be bad. Glad you are here Red.

So, Fallout 3 is confirmed for a Fall 2008 release. fallout.bethsoft.com/From what I can garner from the game design mag Gamasutra, Bethesda bought the IP outright from Interplay, and it will feature voice acting from Liam Neeson. Despite that I will still be playing this game when it releases.

I have been waiting a LONG time for Fallout3 (I love the 1 & 2 -- tactics was an abomination unto the vault dweller) -- I just hope it's not a FPS.

Well, given that Bethesda has been working on this game for a couple of years already I'd have to guess that it will use the same engine as oblivion, and thus 1st person is highly likely. Bethesda is not saying much of anything at this point (which is typical of them), but they'll start ramping up the promotional machine any time now.

yeah -- my problem with FPS is the perspective completely throws me off -- and after a few minutes of play I have to stop b/c I've got motion sickness. If they at least have a somewhat distant over the shoulder option I can maybe play....I hope.... /disclosure: X & my's wedding song was 'kiss to build a dream on' -- we picked it b/c of fallout.

lol... my first fiancee wanted to use Darth Vaders theme to march down the aisle. I tried to talk her into Mettalica's Imperial Death March (mostly as a gag) but she wouldn't have it. Never regretted not marrying that girl.
Anyway, back on topic: I haven't been able to run oblivion, but as I recall from Morrowind you could get a perspective that was a bit behind the character, but not a long way. It was more distracting to me because the avatar took up too much of the view.
