I heard about that one, all over the forums. I actually have a character on the Illidan server. The guild that was giving the memorial was always nice, and the guild that attacked them are famous for being asshats.

I bet if they made a boss in guild wars named Jeff Strain it would be the most farmed boss of all times. I bet even Gaile Grey would live longer.

I found WoW vs. Guild Wars yesterday. Loved it. Made Kelkhil watch it when he got home.

I think GW clearly wins. The WoW warrior dance does seem to be much better, but the GW dances really take the cake.

It's out. I just installed it, but I haven'y played it beyond the introductory cinematic. I'd forgotten how cool this game looked, and the voice acting puts GW to shame! If you're interested, Target has it on sale this week for $14.99. Mine was sold out (missed it by THAT much!), but Best Buy has plenty, and they price match. Just take the Target ad with you.

Hmm. As long as the oil isn't conductive, there's no reason why that should cause a problem. And 120 degrees is about the temp where chips start failing usually so that part holds true. The only thing I question is that he put the board in a metal pan and didn't appear to insulate the bottom of the board from the pan. The pan would short out every exposed pin in a nano-second...

I'm getting a 403 error when I try to look at the pics, so I can't see for myself, but he probably had some standoffs attached to the bottom of the board.

Double post, sorry. Computer Gaming World has posted PDF archives of their back issues. Kinda fun to see how far we've come. Look at this ad for Castle Wolfenstein from the premiere issue in 1981: It required a whopping 48K of RAM!!

My first ever video game was PONG (from Telstar, I think). Even my first computer (Atari 800xl), a comodore 64 clone, though the games were impressive for their day, they didn't hold a candle to what we have today. But then again the resources needed today would have required a main frame computer back in the day. Just the patches we download from Anet sometimes are 100 times larger than all the storage I had on my first computer.
As an asside, I think I'm done viewing content from imageshack. They've implimented pop-up ads and I *HATE* pop-up ads...

Strange, I haven't noticed any pop-ups. (Or pop-up notifications from Firefox.)

hmm... A game created by one of the guys that used to work on another game does not make it a sequel of the first game, regardless of what GUI they slap on top of it, or graphical style they adopt. I'll have to see A LOT more about this game before I start calling it D3.

Figured I would share this here b/c it was funny -- Went and did tech support at one of our small library branches today -- sat down to work on computers in the teen area when my coworker yells "Hey Inda look here! Isn't this the game you play?" -- I looked over his shoulder -- seems some 1337 hacker teen installed GW on the computer. -- we uninstalled it from the computer -- that and the quake 3 demo If GW is reaching this tiny little town I was in it's a good sign for Anet.

You removed it? Awwwwwww.... Yeah -- and it looked like it had been played a lot b/c it didn't have any patches it was trying to download. I felt bad -- but their cards only allow 1 hr of computer time twice a day -- so it's not like they were serious players
