Here's a little more info from Gaile:
Not sure what she means by Winter Event at a time that is more in keeping with the holidays, as for me, the holidays began at Thanksgiving, and end with New Years.

That sounds about right. Make it a cheap update (add snow to LA and Tombs). Put it in 3 days before the least active day of the year, run it until New Years where there will be New Years party. Stick a fork in it and call it done. Then market it as the best thing since Tormentor's armor.

[Maybe something around the winter solstice. That would sort of fit with the Guild Wars milieu. Hmm. I can just see it now. The right and the left both protesting GW. The right cause they took Christmas out and the left cause they are not all inclusive. (Oh well. Sorry for being so off topic lately. )

New one today (in the middle of playing none-the-less): Update - Tuesday, December 20
* Fixed a battle axe that was incorrectly allowing two axe grips to be attached. * Fixed Incendiary Bonds so that it deals the correct amount of damage as shown in the skill description. Previously the amount of damage shown in the skill description updated according to the player's attribute level, but the actual damage dealt did not.

I just saw in GWGuru forums that folks are getting VERY frequent drops of 15>50 ICY dragon swords from Ice Imps in Mineral Springs. Very cool blue color, I must say. There is much speculation that this is a Holiday gift. I still need some skills in Mineral Springs. Anyone else?

To get to observer mode, press 'B'. I had to ask Spirit how to get it to work.

I haven't opened my menu in about 3 months theres no need to, there should be a key assigned to everything you could possibly want to get to- it's fairly simple to remember what each key on your keyboard does...it only took me 4 months

theres no need to, there should be a key assigned to everything you could possibly want to get to- it's fairly simple to remember what each key on your keyboard does...it only took me 4 months Unfortunately, every key you assign is one less key you have available for other functions, including future functionality you haven't even anticipated as of yet. When such things happen, you're confronted with the choice of either assigning the new thing that you're going to use more often to a less ideal keystroke, or reassigning an already used keystroke, which then leads to the problem of you accidently activating that new function when you meant to use the old, due to it having the keystroke you spent months forming the habit of using for the old function. I've been down this road before. In any game where there's any possibility of future updates adding more functions, it's a bad idea to assign keystrokes to functions you don't use very often. Since you rarely use them, it's not a major inconvenience to use the menu to get to them, and you save yourself a world of headaches in the long run... I can go to observer mode easily enough now, it's not important that I be able to switch to observer mode quickly. I'd seriously recommend not assigning keystrokes to anything that you don't either use in combat or use very frequently. Of course, if you're using something like a Nostromo n52 pad, the actual keystroke assigned to anything is less relevant, as you'll not be likely using the actual keystroke, but just assigning it to an n52 button. Still, it's not necessarily a good idea mapping every possible function to something on the speedpad. For much the same reasons, you may end up regretting it later...

Except I haven't assigned any keystrokes, they are all in-game defaults, I haven't altered a single key, and probably never will- the default works fine for me- GW has a hotkey for everything on the menu built into it.
