I thought I would go with Dell, but now you've made my decision more complicated. That is quite the beast.

Just to put in my two cents about the computer thing: The Asus looks like a decent place to start from. I would prefer to see a model number for the motherboard inside of it so that someone could easily see what chipsets its using and hows it rated outside of that computer. For the price, I'd say it's a pretty nice deal. I'm always a little leery aobut buying a computer that I don't build myself (cause I'm paranoid about hardware) but if you're not ridiculous like me, go for it. Side note: Don't buy Dells. They underperform in a general sense and even their warranty doesn't always make up for the amount of times you'll probably want to defenestrate it. Especially for gaming. One thing to be aware of! While you do get a nice, awesome free upgrade to Windows 7 Home...you won't be able to utilize all of the RAM and VRAM that your machine would come with. Unless it is going to be Windows 7 Home Premium (not sure on their policies). Refer to blogs.zdnet.com/hardware/?p=4254 for memory limitations on 64bit Windows 7 Memory Limits. Just something to watch out for ^_^

Thanks for the info Azzie. I usually build my own as well. The only down side is OSs are more pricey that way but usually I can find some oem on ebay. But may be a while on Windows 7.

Welp, my company is sending me to Afghanistan for a while, so my wife wants to move back to PA to be with the grandkids. I will be losing my current internet connection this coming Saturday and don't know, yet, when I'll have another one set up. Under the circumstances I will understand if you need to drop me from the BGN rolls. Just wanted to say thanks to you all for having me from HeEt after the old alliance busted up. I will try to get back in touch here on the forums as soon as I can. Be safe and have fun. Mike

"The Company" is sending you. ;D
Have a great time in Afghanistan, if there is such a thing. We usually keep friends on the roster for a year. Hopefully you won't be gone that long. Keep us posted, and may God keep you safe.

Asya! Please don't kick me! I know it seems like a year but I am gearing up to get back on. I need to reload maps this week sometime. I wiped drive and reformatted puter just before I left Mich due to really sluggish running and frustratingly long start ups and just haven't had time to get into tweeking things yet since I got to San Diego. And that's the other reason for so long of an absence... wow... going from property management for 20+ years to an auto repair service writer over night is quite intense. A whole new world of tasks, language/ terms and pace. After around 3 weeks of of immediate total immersion I am getting close to where I might be considered a noob.... lol my bro/ boss says it will take 6 months to feel proficiant at it...lol...I hope it's that soon Anyway like I said I am looking forward to getting with you guys soon, DoA runs aha! right up my alley... you've no doubt seen my graffiti tags in those caves from my runs back in "the day" and some bleached bones from a few of my chars on your runs.

I know i've seen a ton of bones, but maybe thats because I spend so much time staring at the dirt. Glad to hear your location change has gone well (and I hope you didnt lose anything in the process... always seems to happen to me). I'm sure you'll pick up the new job quickly and we'll be seeing you back in no time!
