Playing KO tonight I tried to converse with a young Deutsche jungen order madchen--but I was way too foggy from meds to really get too much out of the conversation. But since GW is an international game--it may be nice to have some multilingual talent in the guild. So long story short: What languages do you speak? I can count English (given it's the USA version and not the Queen's) and my very rough German (5 years and it's rough, Oy!). My Spanish is enough to get me the library or restroom in the library--if I'm lucky. And that's about it. Unless you count geek/nerd speak--but that only got me a husband. ;D

I can speak English (American and Queen's, I had to, for Oliver...), French (enough to understand basic things, the rest is cognates), German (just a bit, use cognates a lot too), Spanish (the basics), and... Latin (hehe)
can I include Elven, Dwarven, and the like? I need to use my Tolkien Dictionary for something!

Italian - Listened to "Learn Italian" CD's on the plane trip to Italy.

English some Spanish, enough to shop in Tijuana, grew up in San Diego CA and still have 2nd home there. Did a crash course for a month in French and German before I went to Europe for a month 10 years ago. Could I converse in any? No. But I could politely find my way from place to place, eat, find lodgings and "communicate" with locals without a US tourist mentality that all peoples of the world are ready and willing to cater to Americans abroad. Sorry I missed your country Mystique I did make it to Sweden, Holland and Denmark but ran out of time

Doumo arigato gozaimasu! (If you really want to make a big deal out of it.)
O-genki desu ka?
Okay, that's about all I remember from my college semester of Japanese. Oh, and I think I can count to ten (ichi, ni, san, yon, go, roku, nana, hachi, kyu, ju).
Oh, and the ever useful: Watashi ha neko desu. LOL

I'm learning sign language ,,|, Or if you prefer it with a roosterney accent: ,,|/ EDIT: Okay, we can't talk about roosterneys here? We have something against those East Enders born within the sound of the Bow bell? What's really humorous is that it edits out the colloquial name of working-class East Enders, but leaves the gesture intact...

I speak English (American), I can kinda mimic a British accent, but I am sure any real Brit would see right through it...
Also some Spanish (5 years of it from 8th-12th grades) but not enough to be fluent (helped by the fact that I haven't used it much in the 5 years in between...
Kinda learning a bit of Irish also and was (for a bit at least) learning Japanese in japanese characters...
It helps that one of my roommates is a major language dork... she double majored in German and International Business, so she was a good influence for learning more...
and I also speak some l33t and geek speak if those count...
and I also speak the language of Engineering and Sciences aka Math & Logic quite well... not surprising since I am an Engineering Grad Student
