Did you stop at 42 because you leveled to 11 or did someone actually manage to take you down?

wow, thats incredible Dream. how did your team manage for so long? A combination of being very hard to kill and capable of taking down opponents quickly. Mostly it involved the monks keeping me alive while I ran around killing each opposing team member twice, with a little help from a friendly elementalist... I got 10 once but never 42. Good Job. Perchance could you tell us he make up of the team? For the first thirty-odd wins (all but four of them "Flawless"), the team was composed of: R/W10 Marcus Corvus (my character) E/N9 Hitikori Viper Mo/N9 Katy Healer Mo/E9 King Rodent Then King Rodent had to drop out and was replaced by: W/R9 Thomas Sullivan And, of course, we were accompanied the whole time by: Lvl10 Pet - El Moa Loco Did you stop at 42 because you leveled to 11 or did someone actually manage to take you down? We were finally taken down by a team that included: W/R10 Pawn of Hyades Interestingly enough, I have several screenshots of him on my team from the previous night, where we went on a streak of about 20 wins. When I saw his name enter the game on the opposing side, I figured our number might be up. I was sure of it when I saw he had better support. I probably could have taken him if King Rodent had still been with us, but with only one monk backing me, I couldn't deal with the degen he was giving me as well as he could deal with what I was dishing him. We were both running very similar builds, based around two main skills, Apply Poison and Sever Artery. Together, these produce a level of degen that people in the Ascalon Arena just can't deal with. By the time most people realize how much trouble they're in and try running, you frequently don't even need to chase them -- they'll die shortly anyway. It's also funny watching W/Mo's with Mending and hitting Healing Breeze and still not healing any, while you bash on them with your sword. My full skill lineup was: Power Attack Seeking Blade Sever Artery Apply Poison Sprint Resurrection Signet Charm Animal Troll Unguent All of these being fairly easy to get at low level, the most difficult being Apply Poison (which you can get from Captain Greywind in the Ascalon Settlement). Fun build, fun time. Incidently, Marcus Corvus is supposed to be my experimental beastmaster build, but I haven't really accumulated enough good Beast Mastery skills to support my crazy Moa, so instead I just had 7 Swordsmanship, 4 Expertise and 4 Wilderness Survival. It'll be fun to see how well he does in the Shiverpeaks Arena at level 15, with more attribute points to play with...

Interesting build Dream, as that was almost my build when I went on large winning streaks in Shiverpeaks. I used FGJ instead of sprint, as I found a long bow w/poison will take down runners. Your right about apply poison and sever artery great combo for low level arenas.

I'm going to try this build and see how it works. I have the exact skills you listed and I have my ranger elite druids armor. I'm still only level 5 so it'll prolly be touch and go at first but soon I should be rocking the ascalon arena.

I think it would have worked better with a wa/ra instead, as a ra/wa looses the strength attribute which buffs your sword damage. Expertise won't help as much, as your primary damage is adreniline based and not energy based. The animal will be good for some extra damage. Not sure what the specs on the shield is, but most shields are strength or tactics based. Since you don't have strength, it would have to be a tactics based shield, and your not running any other tactics. Thus, you might have some wasted some attribute points by putting them in tactics. Also, sprint will just be short as you can't buff it with strength. Note Dreams comment about rarely using sprint because they were bleeding and poisoned.
I'm predicting that you will have some good runs, just not as many as you could have. Let us know how it turns out.

So far my best run is 2 consecutive flawless victories. Even with elite armor, I seem to be dieing too fast. I've been chalking it up to low hitpoints and/or undeveloped PvP skills.
I have been wondering about flipping the classes to W/R and seeing how it works out. Seems that this build would benefit from having a Strength skill.
Dreamsmith made this build work so I Know it can work if played correctly with the support of a good Monk or two...

Oh, you are going in as a level 5? That makes a big difference when taking on level 10's. Your base health at level 5 is 180 hp; whereas, a level 10's base health is 280. When Dream had his 42 winning streak, he was a level 10.

I've advanced to level 6 now and managed to get 9 consecutive wins before I had to log out. Four of them were consecutive flawless. The team was on a roll and could have easily gone longer. The thing that amazed me was that we had no monk.
I came up against a warrier earlier that somehow managed to drop me in 2 hits. I was too busy saying WTF to have noticed how he managed it though...
