I had no idea where to put this thread. It's an announcement about visual media but guild wars related, that could fit 3 forum areas I have a new GW video in the works. It might take anything from weeks to several months depending on when I finish vanquishing Elona and how much post processing I want to do. I already have quite a lot of footage but I was wondering if there is anything specific you'd like to see. Feel free to contribute with exciting ideas and opinions! Here's a teaser shot, be patient while it loads. I don't know how fast Sitesled's servers are.

update I'm going to make the intro in 3d so I'll most likely scrap everything so far and start over

Currently on a short hold because I have an exam on friday. After that I will resume working on it. The reason for it taking a lot longer than I intially though is because I moved into After Effects and am doing a 3d intro. Still working on the CGI. I have a pretty good idea what want to do, should just be a matter of figuring out how to do it If you want, I could post a short teaser from the intro I did in Vegas but which I later totally scrapped. I'm not even going to use the same music as I initially thought. EDIT Just great, Sitesled has delted my account once again. I have no idea why. Oh well doesn't take long to create a new one. EDIT2 wow seems like sitesled's working like crap. I can download at 3kb/s. I need a new host I should look into if I still have my account at Filefront active. Their servers are great and you get unlimited bandwith

Horrible news, I lost a hard drive part of a raid0 partition. The HD isn't completely dead but chances are very slim that I would be able to recover my work. I actually have a pretty new version of the video clip itself backed up, but I lost my entire After Effects project including my awesome intro and ending. Had I only backed up those small project files The video clip itself is nothing without the intro and ending. Very discouraging stuff, I don't know if I'll bother releasing anything if I can't get those files back. In total I would have ben around 85% done We'll see what happens

It actually looks like I will be able to recover everything. It's just going to take a day to set everything up again. I'm copying the files as I post this I hope nothing important is corrupted

My video is finally finished, I'm uploading it right now to filefront. I'm not going to put it on youtube but I can upload it to vimeo.com in HD format at some point. For now it's Filefront only. 5m 10s long, 76.7mb encoded with H264. You probably need VLC or FFDshow installed in order to watch it. I wanted to make the ending a bit better but I don't have time to edit any futher. Rendering times are already getting ridiculous long and previewing anything takes a long time to render. Total rendering time including the slow motion sequences which take up most of the rendering time, is about 7hours on my 3GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. I forgot to add a build example to the end credits. If anyone's interested I can post it here instead. I see Filefront has added a new feature so you can directly watch the video there. Too bad it's of poor quality compared to the real thing Get it Here!

Most Excel-ant job! Are you going to cross post the link anywhere? I could spam the alliance forums with it if you wish. And maybe ULGG as well.

Thanks! Most Excel-ant job! Are you going to cross post the link anywhere? I could spam the alliance forums with it if you wish. And maybe ULGG as well. That would be great I've only posted it on GWG. I'm not very active on other forums these days. Here are some production shots for anyone interested. Dedicated Camera, my main comp. My main account on my laptop. Awesome skillbar A shot from After Effects
