In the Official Lost Podcast ( iTunes link), the producers say they've been sort of "resetting" the core characters in this run of episodes, re-establishing their motivations and personalities. Easter egg in last week's ep: the waitress in the diner was Kate's mom. Last night's ep: would that really taste good with ranch dressing? And now we know what happens when the numbers count down! (Sssh, no spoilers!)

Yes - please announce spoilers as I have not seen last night's ep yet. As for last week. I have NEVER liked Sawyer and was glad to see him return to his old selfish, irresponsible, obnoxious ways (so I could feel justified in my dislike of him ). And, I am very intrigued by what they are doing with Charlie's character. I think the show was getting a little stale, but now we're back to a place where we don't know who to trust - the way it should be on that frackin' island, if you ask me. Locke Rules!!!!!!!!

You can also get them on dvd from netflix etc for last season if you don't want to do all that downloading. We got hooked this summer after getting season 1 on netflix and thought bought the whole first season while we were in Indonesia. Good think too, as I needed something to watch in the hotel room to take my mind off my horrible sunburn!

Spoilers!
When the numbers counted down the symbols came up, I wrote them down. Not heiroglyphics as I thought. When you translate them, it makes no sense. The 1st symbol was an upside-down U type thing, the 2nd symbol we didn't get to see, the 3rd one is a rocketship type thing, and 4th was a bird (not owl) and the 5th was like a Y on it's side.

Thanks. That helped. Must be one of those shows that turns out to be more interesting when you actually watch it. The overview makes it sound somewhat less than interesting.

Spoilers! When the numbers counted down the symbols came up, I wrote them down. Not heiroglyphics as I thought. MORE S p o i l e r s wow...no, those ARE hieroglyphics. There are also other heiroglyphic symbols that we did not get to see, one of them being the symbol of a young child/baby (found in blown up screen shots). The general translation means " to die/to kill." This could tie in with the whole "people have died because they're sick" deal going on. I've also heard that Claire's baby is supposed to get sick in an upcoming episode. There is also some talk about the symbols relating to Apollo and such, but I have to do a bit more reearch on that. The complete "formula" seems to start up that machine, however we did not get to see that because Locke entered the numbers before the last symbol came to fruition. I can get screen shots if you want. hmmm perhaps I should set up a Lost SPoiler/Sticky thread

Spoilers! Ugh, I fail at the internet. Yesterday when I searched (which I did rather quickly and sloppily) for the symbols, nothing came up that made any sense. Today, upon looking up more, I found Symbols on a forum.

Spoilers Lots of talk of hieroglyphs going on in Lost forums all over the net. Ugh. In general, I enjoy the puzzles and mysteries that the writers of Lost have laid out, but to throw in Egyptian mythology at this point is completely ridiculous. I would much rather have it turn out that the symbols we saw during the countdown relate somehow to the constellations in Apollo as I rather favor that and the satellite theory. Interesting thread in one of the forums about how the story Gale told had many allusions to the Wizard of Oz. And this, while being totally cool, also means he's a liar making shi# up, just as Rousseau (Delenn) and Sayid said he was. Here's the link: www.4815162342.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8836

Spoilers....................
I wasn't too surprised about about the Egyptian heiroglyphics as these writers will use whatever means they can to make us all go nuts. What's odd is that the Dharma initiative seems to be based more in Asian tradition. Obviously, the words Dharma and Namaste are traditionally Hindu words. Soooo, the symbols should have been sanskrit I would think.
About Henry---yeeeah, the minute I heard him say "I'm Henry Gale from Minnesota" it sounded just like "I'm Dorothy Gale from Kansas" in my head. When he mentioned the balloon, I knew for sure he was a liar. I wished Sayid had asked him his wife's name. "Emily" would have clinched it. Which reminds me, is Sayid the only one who heard this guys name and balloon story? Seems like any of the Americans should figure it out right off the bat.
Oh, and to go back to last week, did everyone notice one of the books in the Hatch "Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge?" Nightpearl pointed it out to me. It's a short story about a guy who is being hung and has an extended hallucination while he dies (among other things he thinks he escaped.)

Spoilers from the 3/1 Episode Below: Does anyone else think that Locke was faking it when, at the end of the ep, he thrust all of the dishes and things off the counter and onto the floor? I suspect he is playing some kind of mind game with Gale, whom he knows can hear him through the walls. I think all the talk of Hemingway and Dostoyevsky was a set up, and that Locke is leading Gale to believe that there is more conflict between himself and Jack than what there really is. Or - did most everyone view that scene in a more straightforward manner - that Locke really is pissed that he's not Alpha? Roxy<----------- Loves Locke

Does anyone else think that Locke was faking it when, at the end of the ep, he thrust all of the dishes and things off the counter and onto the floor? Absolutely not. Gale is f**king with everyone, especially Locke. Locke has issues and is easily manipulated. Gale is an other and is very good at what he does (seeing the weakness in people and exploiting that perfectly). Too bad we have to wait 3 weeks for another new ep.

dang to heck my fever the other night! I was practically in a coma during LOST so X had to fill me in yesterday on everything that happened. I have to say I do not trust Locke...never have never will...still would like to know how he ended up in a wheel chair and what happened to his relationship with Peg Bundy ( ). I think Locke wants to be a big man like his papa...but he can be manipulated -- after all he was completely blinded sided by Sawyer. my 2 cents from only hearing about the episode from X.

Even *if* Gale made Locke mad (and that's a big *if* in my book) I think Locke is a cool enough cat that he would not have let Gale know how pissed he was a la throwing things around when he knows that Gale can hear everything. I think that Locke is manipulating Gale. Muhawhawhawhaw! Time will tell.
