The World Preview Event began Friday evening, Oct. 29 2004, and ended Sunday evening, Oct. 31. The first beta weekend event was November 6-8.
Trivia contest time! What mission was the trainer mission in the WPE, and where did it lead you to?

Happy birthday, BGN! I wasn't here at the start (despite Asya's attempts to the contrary), but I hope I'm around for many years to come. Happy anniversary to everyone who was here at the beginning.

Not sure the exact name of the training mission -- but it was a really simple portion of the gates of Kryta, right?

Yup, it was a scaled-down version of Gates of Kryta (or rather Gates of Kryta is a scaled-up version of the old training mission), and of course once you completed it, you entered Lion's Arch. And you started at Level 15.

Dream is correct.
Short story about the WPE. That was my first MMORPG to play. So the training mission starts, and I immediately start running around looking for someone to talk to. I was shouting, "Hey, I'm new can someone help me?" I thought the game was extreamly unfriendly as no one would talk to me. And there was hardly anyone in the area. I was thinking, boy is this game going to flop. But I ran the mission anyway, ending in LA. Talk about getting a second chance to make a first impression...

Ah yes.... Level 15, no idea how the attributes and skills worked, impressed by the 3-5 wand they gave ya (really impressed by the 5-8 wand a boss dropped), walking outside (alone) and getting slaughtered by Tengue or Bog scale, getting 2 or even 3 gold form the monsters (mabye) and getting send back to the outpost when the entire party died (No Res Points till Janurary)... Good Times indeed!
