Okay, I have not preorded the game yet, and merely got some code from Gamespot, I have 3 questions. 1- If I preorder, and get a new code, can I just change the code on my account to my new one, so I don't have to make a new account? 2- I want the preorder package, how do I get it? Is it on the shelves in the stores, or when I give my $10, will I get something to send in for the package? Or can I only get it online? 3- If I don't get the preorder package, are all the extras in the final release of the game?

1. It should keep your characters in tact just as it did from the WPE and the first beta. 2. I went to Best Buy and pre-ordered my copy. In the box is some 'junk' and an envelope with a beta key. There is also an invite a buddy key good for one person for one weekend (like the gamespot key). 3. If you pre-order at Best Buy, just take your receipt back at release time to get your $10 off.
Of course this is a beta of a game, and it isn't written in stone that the characters will migrate from one beta to another. ArenaNet has said that all characters will be wiped prior to going live. You can reserve your characters name and guild name, and that's about it.

Asya sums it up--I will say that I pre-ordered from Amazon.com (for a $1 +shipping) and ended up saving a couple of dollars (nothing major though). The only other issue with pre-ordering is what "free" item you get--see guildwars.com/preorder.html for more info.

The box was on the shelf near the other games like this one, Everquest, NWN, etc.
