first of all - kudos to you guys for actually replying to every single one of the posts in this thread - a fine example of guild interaction. other than that, i don't have a fancy or snappy story line with a bunch of big words or funny catch phrases to tell you who i am - im Poseur Bill, and I'm only having fun in GW when everyone else is too.

Thought I just post a quick hello and thank Asya for the invite to the guild. I always had a great time with BGN in beta and I'm very glad to be an official member in retail.
I play Jezmund, Nausicaa, and Amelie Grimcroft in game and I'm a big fan of teamwork and PvP.

Alrighty... forgive me if I post in the wrong place. I plead ignorance, as I don't use boards much (unless they have nails driven through them). My name is Lise; I am 38 years old, and live in South Dakota. As winters here are long and arduous, I find myself playing computer games. I am a gamer from waaaaay back, when D&D was new. I have 6 stepkids, and 3 step grandkids. I played WoW for awhile, until I saw Guild Wars pre-order. Now, I play GW. I am looking for people to hook up socially with people who are closer in age to me. (Perhaps I seek validation that I am not the only one who is jugling work, family, and gaming addiction.) I have only just started playing GW, so I still will answer to newb. I have 4 characters ranging from levels 5-8. My fav so far are my monk hybrids, although it might be an aprapos time to mention my monks aren't big into healing; they prefer smiting. I am interested in joing the guild. I feel I would be a valuable asset, as I am always good and sweet and kind. (cough cough... innocent look) I do enjoy helping newbs, because we were or are all newbs at some point. I dislike seeing someone ask for help and get ridiculed. But mostly, I am looking for like-minded people to run around with. I have a twisted sense of humor, and often am referred to as "strange", though I prefer "eccentric". (My 31 year old stepdaughter never fails to inform me I do not have enough money to be eccentric.) My characters are One With No Name, Mo/W 7; Natures Child, Mo/R 6, Wolfen Mystique, Me/N 5; Isabeau SnowRunner, R/El 5. Anywho, Dreamsmith told me to introduce myself, so here I am... nice to be seen. Be well...

Welcome Lycana! You have indeed found a group of people who are juggling work, school, family, etc. And I think I can safely say the lot of us have very unique sense of humors as well as personalities. Please make yourself at home and grab a drink over at the pub. And if I can be of assistance be sure to give me a holler! Inda (name in game Philia Indagatrix)

Hail and well met, fellow travelers! I have noticed your fine collection of characters in my travels and wondered if I might be able to join you on your adventures. I am quite adept at raining arrows from above, while my trusty pet (and companion) Rocky can assist in the thick of things. Should the situation turn dire, I'm also available for minor recuperative tasks. 'Tis a beautiful, but big world and not safe for one such as myself to wander alone. I have been wandering the reaches alone since the Searing and have truly realized that I am in need of companions whom I can trust. I would be honored and elated if you would have me and would do my utmost to assist in whatever way I am able.
--Sareth SecaraeOk... jumping back out of character... Hey all! I've been playing GW for a couple of weeks now and love it. In all of my "information hoarding" of GW, I keep running across you collection of motley characters. So, after doing some digging around the forums, it would seem that you guys are exactly what I'm looking for. I'd appreciate the opportunity to run around in-game with several of you and see how I "fit". So, who am I? Complicated question, but here's the overview... I'm a 30-something year old guy (but going on 17ish) who lives in Northern Virginia. It's "Northern" enough that it might as well be Washington, DC. I've been playing RPGs since well before I actually was 17ish. Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights were "dreams come true" for me, as they allowed me to play AD&D without being a DM and without having to gather up a bunch of people. Those were both the start of my online RPG'ing until Horizons came along. That was my first MMORPG and I loved it. I didn't particularly love the recurring monthly charges or the constant bug fixes, updates and load times required. But, HZ was also my first guild experience. I was fortunate enough to get invited into Questor's Society... an excellent, helpful and social group that has sadly passed (Guild Manager had real-life stuff to deal with and many members ran over to WoW). I'm looking for a similar group, and it sounds like Beguine may be it. I'm a computer geek by profession. When not working or playing GW, I'm normally doing house stuff for the wife or out on my motorcycle working through another set of tires. In GW, I currently only have one toon - Sareth Secarae. She's a level 9 Ranger/Monk. I'll probably build up a character that's a primary magic slinger eventually, but I'm planning on learning the ins-and-outs of the ranger class for a while first. If there's anything else that would be helpful to know, feel free to ask. Otherwise, I look forward to meeting some of you in-game. Until then... I'm off to the pub! --smthng

Hello folks. I'm a 30-something (read: closer to 40 than 30) woman from western New York state, and I've just purchased GW in the last couple of weeks, so I'm pretty obviously new here. And not only am I new to GW, I'm also new to online game playing itself. As you can imagine, that means I sometimes feel a little lost and lonely when I'm online. (It took lots and lots of research before I figured out what "l8r" meant, for instance) That said, I LOVE rpgs in general and have played through several, including (most recently) Baldur's Gate and Wizardry 8 (made a rhyme). In the past, I've stayed away from online gaming communities mostly because of concerns about how new folks are sometimes treated and also because I'm not sure about my own ability to commit my time TEXT and walletTEXT---->the no monthly fee thing is one of the biggest reasons I'm online trying this stuff out for the very first time. Huzzah!). Like some of you whom I have read about in these forums, I have significant real-life committments: a marriage, a full-time job, 2 dogs (Erin and Patrick - my wonder pups), a household to run, and on and on ad nauseum.... Despite all of that stuff though, I've always been curious about online play and have remained hopeful that I might be able to find a community of like-minded, patient-with-newbies, mature people to game with. I'd describe my play style as cautious. My level 9 Ranger/Mesmer, Aerina Rox, has lately been enjoying hanging back from the fray so she can target enemy spell-casters to either slow them down or steal their energy to buffer her own health. But she's also not averse to firing off a volley of flaming arrows now and then. At level 9, she still has a lot of skills to learn though. Also, as you might expect coming from a real person with 2 dogs, my Ranger has a pet, Tru Kitty, who bravely helps absorb some of the initial melee damage during battles. One final thought -->one of the coolest things I've noticed (so far!) about Beguine Guild is that it seems to have been established by women. Not that I don't like guys - I love them (including my husband)! But as I've gotten older, I've begun to realize more and more how wonderful it is to be a woman! and how wonderful it is to know other women! So, after all of that long windedness, what I really want to say is that if you're ever online with me, I'd love to have the chance to introduce myself there, and I'd love to adventure a little bit with some of you, provided you won't mind having to be patient with the new person.... Cheers!
