Free cheese and ale in the pub of course!!! Inda is still giving out free cheese is she not X? The Beguine guild is a group of skillful lads and lasses. Tis so much fun to dance and slay. Where else can you get such creative siggys and titles to match? Whether we play GW (cheer) or KO (hiss) tis the people you want to play and interact with. Plus they don't mind it, when I raise a minion or two from their dead bodies...in the game that is, never in the pub!! I am still trying to get that skill to work IRL on some of me workm8s, it would come in very handy at times

I am still trying to get that skill to work IRL on some of me workm8s, it would come in very handy at times "workm8s"? Actually, those of us who remember the USENET days know the proper term for them is "cow-orkers" (from someone's accidental typo years ago, best misplaced hyphen ever). Le'ssee, why BGN? BGN first impinged itself upon my consciousness when I noticed several people with really nice, tight, attractive signatures over on The Guild Hall that seemed to follow the same layout and similar themes, and of course I quickly noticed that this was because these people were guildmates. It caught my eye and gave name recognition, but I didn't think much of it beyond that at the time. Then came the dance video. I loved it, and I said, "It looks like these people know how to have fun. Oh, and they have a website URL at the end of the video, I should check them out." So I did. What struck me was the stated purpose of the Guild. Not "Crush our enemies and be #1", not "Be honorable and virtuous", not all the other bloody nonsense other guilds put in their mission statements. It was short, simple, and to the point: Have fun. Rewind back to the mid 80's. At some point, for reasons long forgotten, during my late teens I picked up the habit of ending conversations with, "Have fun!" instead of "Goodbye" or "See ya later" or whatever. It's my "good luck" or "best wishes". When someone's heading off to a date or the movies, it's "Have fun!" If someone's heading off to a boring or even a likely-to-get-ugly meeting, it's "Have fun!" (It usually gets a laugh in that case, which is always a good thing under those circumstances. Good thing most of my friends appreciate "gallows humor".) To this day it's the most common thing I say at any parting. I could think of no finer mission for a guild. I started lurking around the fora to see if it looked like this guild was likely to be able to live up to this lofty goal. Then the third major thing pushed me over the edge and convinced me I had to join. I saw the posting on The Guild Hall asking about getting another guild to cooperatively explore the GvG system. I said, "now that's smart." It appealed to me that the guild was clever enough to do some basic intel work, as well as consider cooperative relationships with other guilds, even in a competitive game (the best ideas are usually found outside the box, because intelligent people frequently forget to put their toys away). It's exactly the way I would want to learn my way around the GvG system. At that point I had three attributes that seemed perfectly in sync with the guild: [1] Obsession with eye candy (see sigs) [2] Philosophical match ("Have fun", gotta love hedonism.) [3] Intelligent and practical approach to the game (play cooperatively and always get good intel when you can). Intelligence, practicality, philosophy, and aesthetics. What more could I ask for? And where would I find a better package? Gotta love it...

Here's my story Well my IRL friend, legothir was talking about guild wars last november or so and I thought it sounded pretty cool. I then looked up stuff about it on guildwars.com and articles, and I thought it looked pretty interesting. I then pretty much forgot about it for a few months until late March. I decided to see when it was going to come out/if it had come out yet. I saw there was still a beta left so I went and pre ordered it and waited. During that beta weekend, I created a three person guild for me and two online friends. Though we never even got a cape...but legothir told me about BGN and I was interested, but still didn't do anything for awhile. Eventually when my online friends didn't get on much and still were in ascalon when I was in the wilds - I decided to check out BGN. I went to here and posted an intro and hoped to adventure with some of BGN. - Oh and Spirit of death helped me from Gates of kryta to LA a few days before that. I then adventured with firin and leg for a couple quests/missions and yoko a few days later. Then last week I played a few missions/quests with asya and got an invite Needless to say, I love it here. Ever since I first got invited people have extremely nice and helpful. And it seems whenever someone needs help with a mission, a bunch of BGN come to help... There's always more people wanting to help than there's party spots So, thanks for inviting me, hope to have a lot fun here

Start by where I should? First of all let me tell you that I have found your guild, while searching the web (from a link on that top 200 thing you guys are struggling over for the first placeJ), trying to accomplish the hardest quest of GW: finding a group who match my play style and my general attitude. While I was exploring your forum and reading your post on different subject, it occur to me that your are almost an exact copy of my dungeon live (live role-playing game with real armour and sword) guild, that is, a group of heteroclites persons who play a common game to have FUN. At that moment, I did know that I had to look no further. I had to post an introduction message and try to meet some of you in-game. Now that is done, all should be easy, or at least enjoyable I think. Here is some fact about me: What I like: -Dungeon live -Pen and paper RPG -Computer RPG -Miniature wargame -Cycling -Rock climbing -White water canoeing -Motorcycling -Traveling -Food -Photography -Wine What I dislike: -Cleaning -Every drink that got bubble in it -Mushroom -Some others insignificants things I have put 6 pictures of my dungeon live guild. The first one is me, second one is our guild and the others are our guild hall that we have build 2 years ago with one of me working on the roof. Here are a link to some more dungeon live pictures for those interested (it is in French but your are already in the pictures page with this link so it should be ok) A+ www.bicolline.org/bataille_1004_0.html

Well, hell none of the guys will say it so I will. You are a good gamer, handy with tools and good looking?!
Note to self: We need to start selling our single BGNers on the GW market--we've got a good looking bunch of them and I'm sure they would be worth a black dye or two!

LOL, especially the good looking part BTW who told you that I am a good gamer? As for the single thing, I have a lovely girl friend who is enduring the RPG freak that I am since 9 years now, so don't count me in. Anyway, anybody who know me well (read my girl friend here) will tell you that you probably just receive a purple or orange dye for me. Girls are very dedicated somehow.

Black dye for our wonderful guild leader? Hey I'm single, you can sell me! (although the girl you sell you me to would have a hard time getting it through that I'm really guy, but I have 3 female characters)

Why Beguine? Plain and simple....The people. I'm SOOOO glad Amaretta invited me to come take a look at BGN and got me interested in GW. Without her i would have not known about the game more than likely. She is such a sweetheart. The people in this guild are unmatched in my books for the way they treat people. They realize everyone is human and make mistakes, and thats ok. Most helpful group i have ever had the pleasure of meeting up with in any game. I just want to say "Thanks BGN", and Amaretta ) for being the way you are!

Big GIANT group hug. I agree. I LOVE you guys. I was new to online games before GW and (you can ask Firin about this) was completely intimidated about having to interact with others and prove myself useful in cooperative play, but you guys have all made it very easy to settle in.
Thank you.

OKay, here's my story-- Many moons ago I was in another guild, not so dissimilar from BGN itself(not nearly as good though) then for some reason my old guild leader got tired of being the guild leader and joined this guild, myself as well as a few of the former officers ended up joining BGN too. But out of all the people from that guild who joined, I was the only one who stayed here, well that and Fred(the barbarian) but I'm not quite sure what happened to him... But I guess I do owe the finding of Beguine to my old guild leader(not nearly as good as Inda though), but it's almost been a year now and I'm still here, gotta love BGN

I decided on BGN after a couple of brief stays in some of those mass recruiting guilds we all see when we enter pre-Sear Ascalon. After quickly deciding this was not an avenue that was going to work for me, I hit the net and started browsing through some of the guilds' websites. When I came across BGN (yes, I admit I had to look up the word Beguine) I looked no farther. I received a warm welcome to the board, and after a couple of prompt game sessions, was presented with a cape of my very own! This is by far the best guild I have ever come across. Knowledgeable and experienced gamers without the gaming pressure. Mature, courteous members (well, Morbs is questionable, hehe) who are always having fun! I am not an advanced gamer, yet our members are always ready and willing to include me in the action, and help out when needed. And after taking almost a year's leave of absence, I was welcomed back by old friends, and new members, without so much as a batted eye...BGN IS THE GREATEST! ~Bain

As I have stated elsewhere, my former guild leader got re-addicted to Everquest and suggested I find a new home. We continue to work together at the same governmental agency, so I got an update on her : she has now decided that the main man in her life needs her time more than her computer, so she is quitting GW and Everquest. I suggested that she join us, but she says that spending so much time at the computer adds pounds to her hips. As for me, I lost weight from my hips as I was delaying meals while thinking, "just a few more minutes and I can get that green." I hated getting offers to join guilds every time I entered an outpost, so I looked on the BGN site and liked what I saw. I quested and was actually surprised by the quick response to join BGN. Yeppers, knowledgeable friendly peeps, and I got to do a little questing with Pancake. I was also a bit intimidated by the interaction of GW, but BGN made it very easy. Thank you all for the time and effort of this website and for the in game comedy and help.
