Very sad news. I've never read the Wheel of Time series, but I certainly hope his estate will find a writer to take up the baton. It would be a shame if the series could not be concluded properly.

A year ago there was talk from Jordan that the series would be completed with or without him. I'm guessing that means he's picked a successor and roughed out enough to follow.

I'm sad because he was a very talented author and I enjoyed his books very much. But I'm also a little mad. He took the series way too far without closure. I'm glad that I didn't read the last two books. I was afraid that something like this would happen. He just had to keep opening threads and introducing new characters.
Hopefully someone as talented as him will be able to finish it to the same level as he could have.
