Is that why you named your thread the way you did? These pictures are really very beautiful. I know from experience that it takes a lot of time and effort to capture the 'essence' of a place. (My photos never seem to do that....). Thanks for posting Miriel.

Your work is inspiring, you are very talented, and I am grateful that you choose to share it with this forum. Might I enquire about your equipment?

I think he uses a 'Canon Powershot A80' for most of the pictures, atleast that's what my computer says. Very good camera based on the little I've used it. That's not a 'Eucalyptse tree', it's a Panda tree! Very good pictures once again, goodness do I want to travel now.

You are right Yoko. The only digital camera that I own, is a Canon Powershot A80. I did also post some pictures took with a borrowed Canon Proshot S1 and Canon 10D.
On the film side of the thing I own a Canon Elan7 (used for sport photography) and a Nikon FM10 (only use it in harsh condition, as the FM10 is an all mechanical camera except for the light meter)
I am planning to buy a Canon 20D soon, as my little A80 is somewhat limited when it come to sport and low light condition photography.
I have manage to find some trick to extract all I can from this little camera and I will still use it when I wont want to carry all the big stuff that come along with a semi pro SLR camera.
Thanks everybody for all the nice comments. It make me love photography even more.
Watch-out for upcoming post.
A+

Nice pics, Miriel. When I was in Australia in 1999 all I had was a lousy disposable camera. Now that I have a Canon EOS Digital Rebel, and after seeing your shots from Down Under and all those other wonderful places, I want to go back there SO bad. (I want to go back even without a camera. I love it down there.)

WB miriel. Very familiar landscape there. I haven't been to southern Utah in about a year and I've missed it.

Beautimous Utah is one of the few states I haven't been to--but based on these photos I guess X and I need to find a reason to visit.

Awesome as always!
I recently went on a trip to Vegas and the Grand Canyon, and would like to share some of those photos. However, I have no way to host lots of them at once, as Imageshack takes a while to host one at a time. Anyone have any suggestions?

Webshots is pretty good, free, and easy.
I use Kodak Gallery for things I'm planning on printing.
Speaking of which, I need to put some pictures up from Singapore and Bali...
