I've started to have intermittent issues with the graphics in GW. I start seeing little blips of color all over the screen, background images start to flicker and it gets worse and worse. Then the game crashes and/or I have to reboot the PC. GW sometimes reports an error that DX9 is not installed. Eventually, GW detects that the data archive is corrupted and rebuilds the file. The problems started a couple of weeks ago, but went away after the data file was rebuilt (I didn't change anything). Things started to go bad again last night. Starting to have problems: Really, really bad: I have a nVidia 6800GT using the 93.71 drivers with an AMD 2.4mhz processor, 2GB RAM. Directx 9.0c is up-to-date. I've checked for viruses/malware/etc. and have defragged my hard drive. Has anyone else seen this problem?

That has happened to me twice before. IMO, your graphics card is about to go out. I would suggest swaping out the graphics card with another one. If you have a friend that will loan you one, see if it clears up before buying a new one.

Yea, I've seen it happen before as well when video cards go bad. Try playing another game that requires a lot of video and see if you have issues with it as well. That will tell you if it's hardware or just a software conflict with the game itself.

I have been trying to participate in the Tabula Rasa beta and have had very frequent crashes that require me to reboot. I just thought it was the TR client...
I really hope it is not the card.

I have the same problem with TR and it's been enough to make me kinda disinterested in playing. No problems with GW though.

I ran DxDiag and it reported errors in the "Test Direct 3D" section (3D not available).
So I documented the files associated with the graphics adapter in the Device Manager. Then I uninstalled the nVidia 93.71 drivers and rebooted into Safe Mode. I manually removed some old NV files from c:\windows\system32 folder that were duplicates of the files I identified earlier. After rebooting, I bypassed the Windows New Hardware setup and launched the nVidia driver installation. Rebooted again.
Guild Wars now loads without any errors and the graphics look OK. Hopefully this was just an issue of bad driver installation.
I'll try some other games (Doom, HL2) and see how they go.
*crosses fingers*

No, Aeron, that's purely TR. That is one buggy beta. I feel the same way. Haven't played it in weeks.

Yeah that happened to me, it's called artifacts, so your video card is probably dying although that second pic looks kind of cool ;D
