Now we get a hint of how they're going to keep guild wars going until GW2. Mini-expansions! I'm sure we'll have to buy the rest of them.

yeah! I can give her back the piece of cape, the flower, the damn broken flute -- does anyone have a sewing kit and duct tape for me to fix her broken stuff. -- btw -- the flower amazingly fresh -- i didn't realize my storage was refrigerated...

GWEN!!! gwen gwen gwen gwen gwen gwen
Oh, sorry...just got a little excited. Maybe she's the long lost fifth Sturbridge? Or maybe the 5th Beatle?
I wonder if it will be a playable mission where you get to interact with/help Gwen, or if it's just a cinematic or cut scene or grave marker or something...
JS
PS--What's she going to do with all the flutes, tapestry shreds, and flowers she gets?! Maybe they'll lock out those items in Pre-Sear now and give special rewards to people who kept them all this time?
EDIT:
Here's the footnote of the GW site announcement that X posted. Is there an implication there that it will be sold in stores, too? Either way, it'll be a few months before we see Gwen and the rest of the missions.
The Guild Wars Mission Pack will be released sometime between November 1 and November 30, 2007. The contents will then be permanently available to the accounts of those who spend $29 USD (€26/£17) or more in the Official Guild Wars (online) Store between 12 p.m. (Noon) PST July 5, 2007 and 12 p.m. (Noon) PST October 31, 2007. This promotion is limited to one per account. The Guild Wars Mission Pack is not transferable and will only be available to the exact account that fulfills this promotion.

This seems neat and all, but I really wish we could just buy this in the store or something.

Everyone could use 3 more character slots. Now's a good time to do it.

I bought one about 2 weeks ago Last night my wife bought herself 3. I think I'll hold off a bit and see if they offer us some other option. I'm guessing the preorder bonus pack will be 9.95 so two of those and another slot and I'll be good.

The only thing to keep in mind about the bonus packs is that they are account specific if ordered online so you can only order one and have it count toward the $30.

That is what my wife said as well, but I'm hoping. I don't really know what I'd do with two more slots, I already have plenty of characters I don't and a PvP slot. I suppose I don't have either a ranger or an assassin... but I've tried them both and discarded them.
