I just tried to log into the game. It loaded a patch and when it was done, the screen went black, the mouse pointer changed to the GW mouse, and the game music started. That's all. Even though I couldn't see anything besides the mouse, I typed my password and enter, and then enter again. The music changed to that of the last town I was in but the screen was still blank. I then clicked approximately where the "X" would be at the top right corner of the screen and the program closed.
Finally, I pressed <ALT>-<ENTER> to change to windowed mode and the resulting window was also black. I restarted the program twice and still no luck.
Did my game and/or computer break or are others having this problem too?

Well -- atm mine is taking a painfully long time to load and it was very laggy on the start up. In fact it appears to have frozen up.
hmmmmm

Mine is doing that too now. Must be server issues.

Last night I experienced some bag lag and even got kicked once. It reconnected me back to where I was in a quest. Thought that was kewl since I was the only real person.

I've been hit and miss on this issue this past 24 hours. Sometimes I can get in and sometimes I can't. Right now it's doing it again and I can't get in. Last night I got in a few times but had to try a couple of times each.

I have no problems getting in, but I've been having some lag on both GW and Vent. Which makes me think it's my new router and not GW.

It is still doing it for me. Actually, it started just about the same time that I installed the released drivers for my Geforce 7600 for vista. The really odd thing is that it's intermittent and if I can get a good start, I'm good to go until I close down the client.
Does anyone else have issues in GW with the left windows key? The one between <CTRL> and <ALT> ? I can't count how many times I accidently hit that so I finally ripped it off my keyboard the other day when it cost me the first death on a level 14 character...

I haven't had any problems recently Sollo...but I'm running XP also so that may make a difference.

I have had some horrible horrible artifacting problems, but I'm 99.9% sure it's my graphics card since I get articfacts everywhere else too.

I run XP and have no issues. Except with the windows key... I toggle that little bastard way too frequently. I should look for a way to disable it... there must be one.

Guess I should have asked before ripping a hole in my keyboard. I think I fixed my GW client. I downloaded the beta driver for my video card and now it appears to be working. Hope it keeps working...

ripping a hole in the keyboard would be vastly more satisfying as a life experience though.
I would just catch hob from the little missus if I tried it.

I have a problem with Guild Wars. Do any of you have an issue with Vista or maybe even Windows Live OneCare somehow deleting your Guild Wars program files? Anyway... it's done it to me about 3 times and I'm tired of having to reinstall over and over again. I'm gonna be away for a while but will visit the forums once in a while. I need to find a permanent fix for this. Write back, anyone.

But it sounds like a horrible problem -- I think Sollo runs Vista and GW -- perhaps he'll comment.

I use Vista with GW and it works just fine. Don't know anything about windows live onecare. Might try uninstalling it and see if your problem goes away.

I'm using Vista Business and have no issues. I don't have GW installed on the same logical drive though, perhaps you should move your install to d: or e:
