For me this is totally irrational. I definately want to unlock all the skills, but I don't like playing PvP so it would be pointless. I guess it's a good thing that I'm broke these days...

I vote umm... none of the above.
I think that the pvp unlock packs are potentially useful, and do no harm to the game or game community.
Essentially they are selling a complete pack of skill unlocks for the same price as the game brand new. So if I were a PvP'er from Factions with no interest in the PvE content of Prophecies then I could just purchase the content I want and avoid the pointless grind for faction to actually use what I purchased.

Why does this remind me of KO? Pretty soon your going to be able to buy more EXP and better drops. 5.99 for a Ugoz longbow.
Anyway if someone is a PvP they will like it. As mostly PvE and 1 elite away from UAX I will probably not do it.

If interested I could point you at a lot of info about the efforts to create and include 'microtransaction' functionality to MMORPG's. It's coming, inevitably onward the wave of commercials and commercialism is battering at the ramparts of gaming.

Tis good for the PVP that wants a quickie and is not willing to invest time and work for the adventure of quests with others.... yes... even pugs... however... they do not have the advantage of a pub now do they? That would be worth some bit of gold Cheers

I hate the idea of those who can afford it get benefits, however, I dont really see a better option for this. It's fairly cheap and saves hundreds of hours of time. In all, I wish there were other options less economically based but I'm glad they offer these options.

This is a nice option for PVP folks and a nice source of income for Anet to spend on those free servers. I'm a little surprised that no one felt the PVE effort / edge was now being undermined. This option does fit the idea that the game is based on skill and not time, but I know a few liked their advantage.
My only real concern is the ol' slippery slope argument. I'm signing up for the $2.00 get's you all gold drops for 24 hours.

I think this is handy for those who want to PvP without having to PvE. But since I like to PvE much more than I like to PvP I won't benefit personally from these packs - unless this effectively removes some of the more annoying players (afkers, droppers, etc.) from PvE maps.

I think the idea is good for pure pvp players, but it's way too expensive. I still think a UAXed pvp version of the game (just classes, HA, arenas and GVG) would be a much better option. Still the best option would be to make pvp unlocking as fast as pve.

I upgraded my main account with Prophecies and Nightfall unlocks so that my hero's can use any skill. Still debating if I want to do it for the factions pack...
