BGN has a long history of discussing our future in the public -- so why not start this next installment of Guild Wars the same way. So what does the future hold for BGN? Do you plan to purchase GW2? If so are you interested in sticking it out with BGN? I kind of let GW fall to the side - I adore you all -- but since the game and Philia will be lost to the ethers after GW2 releases...well I'm kind of in a gamer-depression and haven't reconciled how to deal with that. So Yes! We will be buying GW2 and I would adore to stay with you all -- even if I'm not guild leader.

Well I pretty much assumed it would be an evolution most of us would pass onto as a guild but it really is a question of will Anet be able to capture our imaginations and enthusiasm again with a new game...
Hopefully we will be afforded open beta events later this year to get our feet wet then be more inclined ,or not, to take the plunge.

I plan to be here. And wouldn't want any other leader. As I age and the kids age though I find that I have less and less time. But I will definitely buy GW2 and hope I will be in BGN unless you guys kick me out...

I'm defiantly in for GW2, I really hope it's as good as they make it look, if not we can all always go back to GW

I doubt I'll be buying GW2. As much fun as I'm sure it will be, I just don't have the time to play much any more. I miss the early, simple days when there weren't so many professions and skills. I don't have the time to learn to be competitive or even useful to a group any longer. Wish things were different.

Silly, Roxy. One needs but eight skills to be useful to a party. BGN + GW2 FTW

unless it ends up being a terrible waste of money, i probably would get gw2. while i do like picking up all the skills, i would probably focus more on only a few classes of skills this time around. soon ill be getting a new computer, and plan to ensure i can return to BGN and all of the associated fun.

Once again, technology is moving too fast for me, but yes, I plan on getting GW2. Open up the wallet and get back on the consumer treadmill, if the feedback from the tests are good. I'm not looking forward with fondness for GW2, as I am still having a blast with GW. But sticking with BGN sounds like the only way to go, GW or GW2.

I would think that NP and I would get GW2. I would guess that I would have only 1 or 2 characters, though, and really get to know them in depth. Especially if there's very high or no level cap. I'm a little disappointed in the Hall of Monuments and the potential transfer of achievements from GW to GW2, but I've always played for the experience and not for the achievements anyways.
I agree, that sticking with BGN is the way to go. My only question would be whether we want to stay small and tight, which is how we've kinda become, or would we want to go on a recruiting spree or try to absorb another guild?

Good question Aeron -- I would assume we initially try to recruit to bring in some more fun loving folks. But we don't have to do a big massive push at recruitment like we did when GW first started (e.g. posting at every fan site, pimping a nekkid Asya at the Northern Wall, etc.) -- unless you all really wanna do that.
And if there was another fun loving guild that would want to join us then that's cool too.

That's more or less what I've done and I've had a blast. I started one of of the Sturbridge triplets in each of the chapters--Julie in Prophecies, Jessica in Factions, and Jaydra in Nightfall. . I've loved exploring not-all of the classes but playing well with what I have. I've found that creating the build-du-jour that's in fashion this week or meticulously tweaking every skill, equipment item, and attribute to the gnat's-ass level of worrisome detail, esp to create massively specialized groups that can really only function if (and only if) everything works out just right when you engage in battle isn't as fun as being good at a few characters and a few builds. [BGN isn't that bad at it, but some of those other guild or pick-up groups are.]. So yeah...I definitely recommend that approach!

Well, I plan on not getting Guild Wars 2 Why? Because, I won't have the time. As many of you may or may not know, I can easily say I am the youngest member in this guild, being only 17. (5 months till I'm 18 haha) But next year, I'm off to big bad scary college, so I really don't think I will have the time to play anymore Guild Wars. Unless, by some miracle, I really have $60 gathering dust, I probably won't buy it.

On a side note I can easily say you are no longer the youngest member of the guild -- we've got some youngen even younger than you when you were young

Heya folks. It's been a while! I'm not sure if I'll be getting GW2 yet. I still pop on GW every now and again to do a bit, but I haven't kept up with good builds and stuff and there's not usually many people from the guild online at the same time as me so I usually just potter around on my own with NPC's by my side. Also I'm kind of leading a guild for WAR, so if that hits off I'm not sure if I'll have the time to play GW2 as well. However, if I find both time and money, you can be sure that when I join it'll be with BGN, even if most of you are silly Americans with your silly alternate timezones

I was talking to Meric, MC, and a few Alliance about this. We definitely should bring BGN into GW2 and would love to keep Inda as our leader. We should even talk to alliance about this. Maybe absorb a couple other guilds and see if the Alliance would migrate or copy over as well. As paranoid as I am that GW2 will be too much like WoW... I'm still planning to purchase it. I'm still having so much fun with what we have now. I kind of wish they would wait until next year to release it. Anyway:
Vote for Inda in 2008!
