Well, I figured this place looked a little bare, so I guess I'll be the first one to post here . Basically just post an idea for a new class in this thread. I'm thinking witchdoctor .

No idea, other than that I think it will be one melee and one caster-type class. One idea for a melee class is some kind of brawler that fight without weapons or perhaps some kind of spear or polearm class. Caster... how about a demonologists that can summon and control demons.

WTF is with all the scatological humor these past couple of days? I'd love to see a polearm melee class. Or maybe a bard who can use musical instruments to charm/manipulate others and the environment. (Nothing will ever be better than Rangers )

Since it is going to be something like maybe africa theme how about something like a Zulu Warrior? Or maybe those Indian (from India) guys who where the turbins and carry those crescent swords? Maybe a profession that has mastered chemistry (i.e. blow things up!)?
I really wish they would introduce mounts(i.e. Horses).
Maybe they will introduce other races(elves, dwarfs, etc). OF course that might be too much like WoW.

Since it is going to be something like maybe africa theme D'oh! Instead of a Bard then, I think something like Xaja's idea of a tribal witch doctor would be cool.

I think someone who can blow things up would be cool...or some kind of throwing class where you could specialize in explosives, javelins, boomerrangs, etc...

Maybe something Egyptian? I like the witchdoctor idea though. Spear Thrower would be kind of neat too.

Well a popular rumour from the same source that guessed an assassin and a "dark monk" have said that it is a class that wields a staff with two bladed ends, and an unarmed class. What these are I have no idea, but polearms sound quite cool to use.

How about instead of new classes they fix all the bugs instead?

A dark monk? That would be a negative of a picture taken of our friend Fate. (oh I hope someone gets this joke.

A dark monk sounds like a necromancer to me....
Aeron - do you mean that Fate's white togs will look dark in negative?

How about a witch doctor type skill where you sacrifice a party member to win the favor of the gods and win a battle? Or you can take the heads of your enemy, shrink it and place it on a necklace...

I agree that a Dark Monk sounds like a Necro... (could also be the Witchdoctor) But the Polearm char sounds cool. I think that Polearms would be great...some cool AoE skills could be used with that as well as direct damage. As far as that goes, you could even chuck a spear I guess.

No, what Spirit meant is that whatever site predicted the Assassin and a 'Dark Monk' (Ritualist) for Factions is currently prediciting some type of bladed staff weilder and unarmed class for Nightfall.

How did we get so confused? I'm very down with the polearm class. Very down, indeed.

Thing with unarmed calss is you can't be sure if it is a caster or a melee char. I mean it could be some kind fo shaman type character, or it could be a martial artist, nobody knows.
Im thinking a polearm class would work with a lot of short range AoE type attacks, so that you can attack slightly further than a sword/axe/hammer warrior, and the double blade would be good for hitting lots of people in an area...so thats my guess.

This is slightly off-topic, but I don't know if new classes will be enough to make Nightfall stand out in the long run. I think Anet needs to introduce a new mode of play, a new...something to make new chapters compelling.

I agree with you Eld. Maybe the unarmed is not really a class but a mount for any character, or just certain characters, or certain mounts for certain characters.
I think a brawler type melee char would be good, someone with brass knuckle type weapons, some with spikes ojn the end, or diamond tipped or the like...

I also have conserns about char slots... By adding Factions to one of my existing accounts I already sacrifice 2 slots. Now a third chapter... do I add it to the same account or to my second Tyria only account...or get the full four slots by starting a THIRD account... sheesh! I don't suppose there is a way to megre my two accounts is there?

My brain doesn't work anymore but I remember a while back there was an interview/article on the upcoming chapter. The article mentioned something about the new classes, and one of them was some sort of robed class. Unfortunately I can't remember anything beyond that

I think it would be really cool if the unarmed class served both as a caster and fighter. Depending on how you sort your attribute points, you can cast spells in a similar manner to a touch necro but doing things other than just lifestealing. Or, you could simply improve your bare-knuckle-boxing skills and go rock some monks. With a mix you could hit with your fist while using touch skills to really mess up your enemy.

Well, aside from the unarmed part, the assassin is pretty much like that, they have spells that can count as lead attacks and offhands and what not and also different spells that do other things.

Can we have a "cat-fighter" class? You know where they go in and start pulling hair and clawing at eyes?

Well, aside from the unarmed part, the assassin is pretty much like that, they have spells that can count as lead attacks and offhands and what not and also different spells that do other things. Dont think of the touch skills as attacks like the assassin has. Instead, think smiting monk or, as mentioned, touch necro. Maybe even similar to a water ele. The point of the character would be to get up next to your opponents and cast the AoE spells. Maybe even spells that work a certain distance in a given direction (similar to how a flamethrower works).
