I guess people didn't know this, but you CAN tame bear in pre. I only found out myself a couple weeks ago. Here is a picture of mine, as proof. Here is the process. 1. You NEED an assistant. 2. You (the tamer) and your assistant go out from Foibles Fair into Wizards Folly and head down the trail to the NE and find a bear. 3. The Tamer stands well back from the bear while the assistant goes out and agro's it. 4. The assistant brings the bear to the outside edge of your agro circle and holds the bear there. 5. This where it gets tricky. When the bear starts casting Brutal Mauling, each of you takes the following action immediately: a. Assistant runs away from the Tamer bringing the bear with. b. The tamer begins taming the bear. If the timing is just right, what will happen is the bear will be unable to immediately break the tamers charm due to having to cast the long Brutal Mauling spell until it is out of range to initiate the break skill. It usually takes several tries to get the timing just right but it's otherwise just that simple.

My understanding was that your assistant needed to be a hammer warrior. You had the warrior knock down the bear to prevent the successfull casting of its interrupt.

I've been finding that there are a few methods to it. The only successes I've seen are using the method I just described. I've been out with half dozen people that thought there was another way and couldn't get me a bear. But they claim it works... The nice thing about the method I listed above is that anyone can do the assist.

Thanks for the info ^^
I have a mesmer/ranger in Pre now and I was trying to get a bear but couldn't. Some guy in foibles was offering to capture one for a fee and now I see what he meant.
