I'm planning to see it. I like Guillermo del Toro's work. It has a 96% rating at rottentomatoes (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/pans_labyrinth/)

We have some friends who saw it and loved it. It's next on our "to see" list, but it keeps being sold out.
As far as what it's about, it's about a family in Spain under Franco. I think they're in the Basque region. The little girl sees some pretty awful stuff and starts to live in both her fantasy life and reality.

IS anyone seen or going to see 300? Looks good from the previews I've seen.

We were talking about 300 @ work today -- it does look pretty interesting. But I haven't seen any previews.

300 is on my list, too. It seems to have kind of a Sin City style about it, which is not surprising since both are based on graphic novels by Frank Miller. The trailer looks incredible: www.apple.com/trailers/wb/300/

Re: Pan's Labyrinth
My wife and I saw it and enjoyed it. It's a good story, and told well. I loved the look and feel of it. The Spanish/Mexican cultural influences give it quite a different style than what we get from Hollywood productions. The "fairy tale for adults" description is apt. It's not a kid's movie at all, and it's occasionally quite brutal. I don't want to spoil it for anyone, so if you want specifics, PM me.

Pan's labyrinth is quite good, and surprisingly and pleasantly gory. I want to recommend The Last King of Scotland, if you haven't seen it already. www.imdb.com/title/tt0455590/
