Unless they changed the picture ... that partial spoiler (about the election results) was disclosed in the preview last week.
If anyone is mad they should have gotten mad back then. IMHO.

One has to expect major plot complications. If it were a perfect world, it would be dull and boring and no one would watch it.

SPOILERS BELOW! discussion is now freely open Frak the spoilers...I just changed the post since the episode has aired....Do you know what it's like trying to keep a frakking secret (knowing about this episode) and not being able to tall anyone? hehe I'm free! Of course I have no idea what to say now. O M G I did a whole write up in my LiveJournal, but when I got to the year jump it crapped out on me and I lost the last part (which was funny)...so I have to rewatch it tomorrow and fill in the gaps.

OMG! Finally watched part II tonight. My thoughts - everyone has fracking let themselves go to pot. Adama with a moustache - ick! and, he let his guard down. Lee is fat and grouchy. Starbuck is so boring when all she does is worry about her man. I was gonna say something bad about the chief, but at least he's still acting like a leader. Now the more interesting stuff - what do the cylons want with the humans. Was Dean Stockwell lying because there are different factions of cylons or was he just playing his part in the plot which unfurled on New Caprica? What part does the child play in all of this? I simply can't wait for the summer to find out. OT Dean Stockwell was really good in this role. Normally, I hate him. /OT

Adama with a moustache - ick! Heh. For me, that was a throwback to his days as. Lt. Castillo on Miami Vice. Unfortunately, it's not coming back in the summer this time. Season 3 won't start until October. Great ep. The jump to "one year later" left my jaw hanging. And the Cloud Nine Six setting off the nuke -- Wow. Somehow, though, this seems to have dream sequence written all over it. Maybe Apollo will wake up and find Starbuck in the shower. Hmm, maybe *I* will wake up and find Starbuck in *my* shower. Going back to sleep now...

Somehow, though, this seems to have dream sequence written all over it. I agree it all seemed very unreal, but I just can't see BSG doing a dream sequence or getting into the time travel genre. Who is the new VP? Wasn't it interesting that they immediately went looking for Starbuck? Is that because they know she's a major trouble maker or might this be a link back to that mysterious surgery she had back while under their control? --Presort

Hmm, maybe *I* will wake up and find Starbuck in *my* shower. Going back to sleep now... LOL. I keep hoping I'll wake up and find Adama in my shower , but if he showed up right now, the first thing I'd do is shave that moustache off. I agree that the whole jumping forward one year does have dream sequence written all over it. But don't you think that would be horribly disappointing? I mean they would have to implement it into the larger story in a VERY clever way to keep me from gagging. And whose dream would it be? Baltar's? It could easily be Adam's and Roslin's nightmare.

Jumping forward one year is a brilliant way to break the series from the rut it was begging to get into. The show now has a planetary base to spin plots from, as well as a pair of understaffed battle ships on the loose. The cylons have effectively pinned them selves down and made targets of guerilla warfare.
I also think that Baltar will have some explaining to do to Six regarding his personal harem.

I think Six's betrayal of Baltar a la detonating a nuclear bomb and thus killing herself and complicating his presidency mostly explains Baltar's behavior (I mean, he's always been a hedonist, so that's the other thing to consider). The way I see it, Six will be the one with the explaining to do. She set Baltar up, built him up, and then abandoned him. The scenes between Baltar and Six in his office after the cylons land on New Caprica were really effective. Baltar conveyed his emotional pain with barely a word.
