...moving this post to it's own threadAnnounced today. SCI FI Channel announced that its hit original series Battlestar Galactica will return in October with a full 20-episode third season. Production on the third season begins in Vancouver, Canada, in April.
Battlestar Galactica returns in its 10 p.m. ET/PT Friday timeslot and brings back the ensemble cast, which includes Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell, Katee Sackhoff, Jamie Bamber, James Callis, Tricia Helfer and Grace Park. As previously announced, Lucy Lawless will also join the cast for a 10-episode arc, reprising her role as D'Anna Biers, a Cylon.
Executive produced by Ronald D. Moore and David Eick, Battlestar Galactica is from NBC Universal Television Studio.
Season three promises even more of the drama, intrigue and action that viewers have come to expect from the series, the network said. The 90-minute second-season finale airs at 10 p.m. March 10. Big sigh of relief.

Sci-fi is posting ten "webisodes" collectively called The Resistance before the October 6 premiere of BSG. ;D I watched the first one this morning.

Thanks Roxy for the heads-up! The little fixes should get us through the next month.

The last Webisode was pretty intense. I wonder if there will be any repurcussions which carry over into the series proper or whether skiffy will wrap this up on Thursday when the webisodes end. Can I just say WOOOO FREAKINNN HOOOO! BSG IS BAACK ON FRIDAY! ;D

Just a thought... I was thinking it might be fun to start a thread if there is enough interest for people to give thier 2 favorite Cylon Sleeper candidates. This would not be intended to be a spoiler as everyone is literaly a suspect. As it stands from my count 7 of 12 have been revealed... 5 models remain undisclosed. Before D'Anna (Lucy Lawless) the journalist ,and Brother Cavil (Dean Stockwell) were introduced Sharon had told Admiral Adama that 8 Cylons remained in the fleet... with the death of the #6 who set off a nuke in her lap that would leave 5 in the fleet undisclosed. Anyway just an idea maybe just give your 2 guesses no explaination just to stir things up or if people agree that tossing around speculations could be fun too well then.... what do you all think?

Interesting interview: www.chud.com/index.php?type=interviews&id=7769The legal / union / business issues created by the webisodes seemed really odd to me. I would think that folks would have worked through these types of issues. Sad that they had to stop with the work 90% complete.

Umm, I SO take offense to this statement from the article:
We are just days away from the premiere of season 3 of Battlestar Galactica, the only truly superb TV show in the SciFi Channel’s history.
Farscape was truly superb. Only toasters think otherwise. They're not smart enough to appreciate brilliance. They don't have souls for gods' sakes - and ya gota have soul to get Crichton.

Minor technicality. Farscape did not originate on Sci-Fi. Did it?

Thank you, Inda. And let this be a lesson to all of us who love BSG. If Skiffy (SciFi) suddenly decides it can make more money through producing an inferior and less expensive project a la Stargate, they will have no compunction about pulling BSG even if they've just aired the third-season cliffhanger.
Hope I didn't offend you, presort. I am VERY vocal about Skiffy and Farscape.

Hey, don't be dissin' Stargate! It's not the jewel it once was, and Atlantis is a weak follow-up, but they're both still better than a lot of the other crap we had to choose from (like Surface.)
Thanks for the update, Inda. I would have sworn that Farscape started on another network before moving to Sci-Fi (a la Stargate SG-1, which started on Showtime)...

Sory Eld. Truth be told, I actually prefer Atlantis to SG-1 which is (these days) just a sad reminder to me of how wonderful Ben Browder and especially Claudia Black were in Farscape.

The lessen about sci-fi showing no loyalty to fans to wrap up a series is quite real. If they do that to a still well run BSG, I will put a lifetime ban on watching any of their shows. Hope I didn't offend you, presort. I am VERY vocal about Skiffy and Farscape. No worries, I'm not easily offended.

Yep, Vala is the best thing on SG-1 right now. I love her little throw-away comedy bits, like trying to arm wrestle Teal'c, or the sleep mask she wore in the mid-season finale. I do watch Atlantis, mostly for McKay. Funny dude. At the tone, it will be four hours, 10 minutes to the BSG season premiere. BEEEEEEP!

So I saw that all the writers like to write for Tigh. It would be cool to write for someone who gets to grumble, ''We're on the side of the demons, We're evil men in the gardens of paradise, sent by the forces of death to spread devastation and destruction wherever we go.''
Unless you are more of a Regis person.

Lol, presort. Tigh and his wife are among my favorites as well. I call them the MacBeths. Their interactions are so incredibly dysfunctional that you're right. It must be a heck of a good time writing for them.
The ep made me cry a couple of times. The Old Man always gets to me. I'd follow him into hell, I can tell ya that much.

Single greatest circumstance which really made me "feel" what a horror it must be to live under Cylon tyranny on New Caprica = witnessing Dean Stockwell and Lady MacBeth doing the nasty.....TWICE! Aaaacck! Gods I hope I never have to see that again! It was tooooo terrible! I'd rather have a centurion rip out my eyes than to have to witness that again.

Absolutely not. It's not particularly romantic or alluring or even sexy to give names to special "moves." It reminds me of pornography. But, since the scenes weren't supposed to be alluring or romantic nor sexy, I guess it worked. Lady McB is a disgusting slut - though I do feel some sympathy for her now that she has gotten herself into this tenuous situation from which I don't believe she can emerge alive. And Brother Cavil is as lecherous as he is ruthless. Gaaaag me on those scenes. Great television!

You see, her lipstick was messed up so obviously the Swirl involved kissing and they where probably swirling their tongues or something. Kinda like french kissing but with a "Twist" Totally innocent.

SPOILER ALERT: Woo Hoo! She's dead! What a great show. I haven't been this happy since they killed Natasha Yar off in STNG. Now if they bring her back as a cylon that would make for some serious entertainment.
