What TV show do you watch every week faithfully that you just can't believe you Watch? For me its American Idol. My wife has me hooked on it. I can't believe it. We tivo it. And I just watched it by myself since I was busy gaming earlier (had to watch it or wouldn't know how the vote would come out tomorrow). Okay I've haven't slipped so far as to actually vote but I know it is coming. It is the same feeling I had when I bought a mini van years back. I feel a Morbid comment approaching or at least a good toungue lashing by Firin and his wit. Ok, maybe safe from Firin Just kidding buddie, still get drinks at the pub? The other is Avatar: Last of the Airbenders. However this was covered in another thread. What is really weird about this one is that I said I would never watch that anime crap or let my kids watch it. Never is a long time. I guess the Power Puff girls broke that.

What TV show do you watch every week faithfully that you just can't believe you Watch? ...I feel a Morbid comment approaching Idol is crap!!! ALTHOUGH I have to admit I catch a few minutes of it once in a while just because my friend watches it and aways talks to me about it, and I like being informed to have a more "intelligent" conversation with her. Oh, and the very beginning is so great making fun of all those no-talent losers...I almost have pity for them As for current shows, I watch: Alias The L Word South Park Uranium Slave to the Metal (haha, it's soo hilarious)As for non-current shows (gotta love dvd): Alias Farscape The L Word Mutant X Xena (major past-time here...yes, I am a Xenite) X-Files (another past-time, and yes, an X-Phile)
*looks from side to side...disappears into the darkness*
I am aware I repeated shows...that's because I watch them constantly! dvd's and reruns...I really do have no life.

Guilty Pleasure Shows I Watch:
American Idol Survivor
I know deep down that they suck, but I can't help myself. It's so funny/horrifying when someone just completely bombs on Idol, and Survivor is fun when people betray the heck out of each other or totally outsmart the rest of the pack.

I used to watch Friends, till it became reruns all the time. And I used to watch Dragonball Z cartoon with my boys, till I got hooked on it myself. Then cartoon network ticked me off by never finishing the story line. So I stopped watching tv basically. Just catch a show of this or that every now and again anymore.

AH but the kicker there is that Bab5 isn't a guilty pleasure -- it was a pure pleasure

OT Agreed that you can't call B5 a guilty pleasure. There should be absolutely no shame associated with having viewed it over and over and over and over.....You get my point.
Like Sollo, I used think of it as the best series ever on television. But, then along came Farscape and my mind became like a haze. And then the gods said....let there be (another) Battlestar Galactica, and my mind was overcome with chaos. I have no idea anymore about what the best show is/was. /OT

Never watched Farscape. It was on Sci-Fi at a point when I didn't have access to it.
B5 is several "Jumps" ahead of BSG. There's indication that BSG will measure up but we have to wait and see.
The reason B5 was so good is that the entire series was written before the first episode was shot. The B5 series is a single show split up into something like 125 parts. The story noticeably progresses and evolves. Most shows have a policy that says everything must be the same at the end of the show as it was at the beginning. That way you can watch any episode in the series and not be lost. If you watch B5, you almost have to put in the Pilot and watch until the end of season 5.
I'm not getting the impression that BSG was written in advance like B5, but I am definitely seeing story progression much more than other shows like ST:NG.

Agreed about B5, and I think that the 5-year story arc that Straczynski planned in advance of production of that show has had a huge impact on the television medium. You now have shows like Lost, which supposedly was written with the end in mind from day one. Farscape was similar. A 5-year arc was planned, but then "skiffy" (read an impertinent bastardization of 'Sci fi') went and canceled the show with no warning at the end of year 4. Oh gods what a nightmare that was! But in the end, the network allowed a mini-series to tie up the loose ends. BSG is similar to B5 too in that I believe the producers/writers/creators know pretty much where their story will end, but you're right Sollo, the carefully plotted details and overlapping storylines and inside references that rewarded us careful and dedicated viewers of B5 may never be seen again. It was a masterpiece!

Lets see soo many to choose from. B5 - (Of course) I still pop it in once in a while. BSG - is tops right now. I love how there are following the original but putting better Character development into it. (although this season looks as though it will be off in their own direction.) Firefly - I was so angry when it was canceled! The characters were so fun in it. And I found out that there is a Baldwin that can act. (not well but hey) Lost - although I find myself missing it more than watching anymore. Oh and the truly embarassing... Buffy - I just loved the character interactions and the dialog. (good Fun) I am not embarrassed by the cartoons I watch. I will never stop! You can't make me!

I put in the first DvD of season 3 of Xena last night. I had forgotten how much fun that show is. One of them was "Been There, Done That." which was a rip off of Ground Hog Day but it was still a riot.

Firefly - I was so angry when it was canceled! The characters were so fun in it. And I found out that there is a Baldwin that can act. (not well but hey) He can act because he's not related to the other ones! Firefly rocked. I still miss it. All hail Joss Whedon. Oh and the truly embarassing... Buffy - I just loved the character interactions and the dialog. (good Fun) Bah! Do NOT be embarrassed for enjoying Buffy. It was well-written, well-acted, smart, funny, scary. ("Hush" is one of the best that combined all of those factors.") A great show all around. All hail the aforementioned Joss Whedon!
