Heh heh heh... I'm currently posting from a hotel room in Kansas City (well, technically, Oakland Park) -- new IP address, new vote. I also voted once from the cyber-cafe in the Oakland Park Convention Center. Alas, I discovered it wouldn't count any subsequent votes from other terminals in the same cafe...

Ok...I don't mean to cause an international situation here...but does anyone else find it in the least bit remotely funny that our little band of rag-tag misfits are able to out vote Guild Wars France (an entire country's GW group) as #1 at the 200 site? Tee hee! I knew my german heritage would come in handy---taking over the french in an online poll! (oh geesh that really is a huge joke please don't take it seriously)

actually, simply having diligent members can really boost your votes. also, GW france doesnt mean all the french who play GW go through that site.

Particularly one where the main character wasn't half as interesting as the bit parts (e.g. LaCroix, radio's "Nightcrawler"). We're so far off-topic we're off the screen, so... Yeah, Nick had the angst market cornered, didn't he? I enjoyed the show, though, particularly LaCroix. I liked the other immortal series, Highlander, even better. Of course, nothing can top Buffy and Angel...

Yeah, Nick had the angst market cornered, didn't he? Did he? I don't recall, really. He wasn't a very memorable character. It's a bad sign when people watch a show for the bit parts and can't quite summon up enough interest in the main character to care... I did like LaCroix, but I eventually lost interest in the show. It had some great characters, but the writing week to week wasn't strong enough to sustain the show. It was hit or miss if an episode was going to be good enough to spend an hour watching, and the hit to miss ratio was too low to be worth the effort to tune in each week. Someone could probably cull the herd of episodes and make a decent Forever Knight mini-series... Indeed. If you forget the first and last seasons, it was an excellent series. I would say the Kalas story-arc is some of the best TV I've ever watched. I don't know I'd go that far, but I did enjoy BTVS, particularly the third season. (Indeed, it suffers from the same problem Highlander did -- a second and third seasons that were so good, the rest of the series could just never live up to it.)

Bloody Europeans... they get a head start. Then we should be doing well with our large European contingent. I'm sure Mystique and Spirit are representing us well. I checked last night and saw that we were winning with 263 votes. Just shy of doubling the 135 votes for the French.
