awww.. come on folks. This one is easy. Hasn't anyone seen an Australian film made in the past 20 years? This band's songs are played at least once in them

You must be referring to The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. Those are the lyrics to "Mamma Mia" of ABBA fame. Guy Pearce, Hugo Weaving and most notably Terence Stamp totally pwned in this movie. One of the best sound tracks out there. ;D

I actually think it's Australian law to play at least one ABBA song per movie--not sure tho...thank god Lord of the Rings was filmed in NZ instead of AU! tee hee Your turn!

I'm confused, granted I don't watch that many Australian films, but I thought ABBA was Swedish?
Now, where did I put those bell bottoms and that brown leather vest....

ABBA is Swedish--but the Australians seemed much more obsessed with them than most countries. I saw an AU documentary about ABBA from the late 70s and it was almost Trekkie-type mania. I mean have you seen Muriel's Wedding?!

Post by Morbid Eclipse on Jan 24, 2005 20:25:21 GMT -5
oh bloody hell hints are for baby's... the friggin song is called "Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime." It was originally done by Korgis, however it is currently on the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind soundtrack as a cover by Beck. ...oh crap...this will mean it will be my turn once Firin confirms this

OOoo! Thanks for the hint Morbi...errr wait ... that was the answer wasn't it? Damn I needed a hint too. ;D Yeah Inda, Morbs has the correct answer. It's an older song covered by Beck that stuck with me after watching Eternal Sunshine which is a recommended watch as is any movie penned by Charlie Kaufman. So I guess it's Morbi's turn ... again

wait, I thought this was the MUSIC! lyric, not movie? or the lyric is a song in a movie...

Post by Morbid Eclipse on Jan 24, 2005 23:17:33 GMT -5
well since lyrics refer to songs...I'm guessing this lyric is from a song...that belongs to a soundtrack...of...a movie

wait, I thought this was the MUSIC! lyric, not movie? or the lyric is a song in a movie... lol hey Yoko it's called convergence ... it's like you and me falling into some weird space-time continuum-vortex and emerging as one. UGGH! Not a pretty sight. Hey Morbs why do I get the feeling that this is from a movie I haven't seen yet? No fair.
|
|
|
Post by Morbid Eclipse on Jan 25, 2005 12:08:29 GMT -5
well it's not actually played in the movie...could be played at the end of the credits perhaps, but i don't know. it is onm the soundtrack, so seeing the movie would not give you any advantage to those who have seen the movie. and it's NOT a movie 'theme' song either.

Okay, so if I know the answer but only got it because of the clues and a little web research, does that count?
|
|
|
Post by Morbid Eclipse on Jan 25, 2005 17:55:37 GMT -5
well it technically doesn't count but there have been plenty of people who lookup answers, cause they will say a correct answer, and then say something like, "though i've never seen the movie" or "i don't listen to this band" ...so...so long as there is a correct answer, no one will ever know how you got it...unless you kiss and tell.

Doh! Then I guess I should have just posted the answer and kept my mouth shut. Great band, by the way. I've seen them twice in concert.
