Interesting...
I'm eager to see some official word on this. None of the gaming sites I've looked at have posted anything yet about ANet/NCSoft announcements at GDC.
Update: And does this mean there will be a drought of new content between the release of GWEN and GW2? Two years is a long time...

Sounds like a pick me up is in the works for folks likes Trem -- very curious. I'm excited to read this though -- I hope it's not just smoke being blown up my skimpy armor.

I really just don't find it credible. As some people have said, there might be a smidgeon of truth in there somewhere, but I'd have to guess it's not more than a crumb.

I've browsed the thread on this topic at GW Guru. Gaile says a lot of the article is wrong, some is right, and some is misleading. Based on the fact that another post was able to do a WHOIS search and linked the URL www.eyeofthenorth.org to ANET, I'm guessing that part's right. Plus, GW:EN is too perfect. p.s. I want to get those tapestry shards, broken flutes, and decayed flowers out of my inventory!!!!!

I could possibly be persuaded to (maybe) read the thread at guru if I didn't have to go searching for it. However my disgust with Guru is so deeply rooted by now that I would probably have to get in a shower and scrub myself down with a Brillo pad afterwards.

For those who don't want to soil their eyes here are some highlights from the gaile input:
Just a quick word to let you know that we haven't made any official announcements about Guild Wars in, oh, a couple of months. Sure, there's a little *ahem* info circulating this week. But you guys know the drill: Until we say it, it's not official. I can tell you that some of what you've read is right, some of it is wrong, and quite a bit of it is misleading. Unfortunately, we can't offer a fact check quite yet.
The good news is that the top game publications in Europe and the U.S. are preparing feature articles with major Guild Wars news -- I wasn't joking when I said a few days ago that I think it'll knock your socks off. In the U.S., PC Gamer will begin delivery of the May issue to subscribers on March 15, and it will be on newsstands on April 3. European magazines, including Joystick in France, PC Zone in the U.K., PC GamePlay in Benelux, Games Machine in Italy, and PC Gamer in Germany, will reach subscribers and newsstands before the end of March.
Knowing you guys, no matter where you're located, you'll be sharing the info from your regional magazines, and that's great. I want to make sure that I let you know, this isn't some small feature -- I would boldly say that any Guild Wars player would want to buy one of these magazines, subscriber or not! In part this is because they'll offer great articles with a lot of cool info. In part it's because the magazines will give you the chance to adopt your very own exclusive new miniature. Check our website for more info tomorrow!

Guess I'll be haunting the B&N zine rack on April 3... Looking for your own miniature Asura? It is kinda cute, if you're into that kind of thing.

Anticipation ! Wow, this game is fun and questing with guildies/alliance members makes the difference. ANETs plans in store for us has got little goosebumps rising in tingling places. But then, I lead a very boring life, so computer generated, recreational simulated toons are the highlight of my week. Hope to see a lot of snow in coming ANET releases.

I hate snow. I'll take Pre-Sear, Kryta and/or Maguma Jungle type scenery any day.

I like the way your breath comes out frosty in the snow. However that makes me think they should make you dripping with sweat while in the desert and maybe panting for breath in the jungle.

So Aangy tells me last night that the tireless team of ANet spies have discovered that they have begun the process of tradmarking both GW:Eye of the North and Guild Wars 2. Apparently they filed for trademark protection the day after theinquirer article was published.

Yikes! 8 weeks! I thought this was gunna happen in '08 ? OMG I got to say goodbye to my cherished longtime chars? *gets out black armband I'm not ready! Maybe Pres. Bush can gives us a Stay of Exicution or a Pardon? Sheesh, think I'll go on an 8 week Drunkard title... I don't remember seeing from past posts or releases... will we retain rights to char names in GW 1 to cross over to GWEN?

Breath Red. Breath. GW:EN is the expansion for GW 1. Not GW2.
