Might as well rev this thread back up.
I am much more impressed with the quests, storyline, cut scenes, and quality of the preview than the release of Factions as a whole. Lets hope this is a sign that anet has gotten IT back.
BTW someone said that there is a collector that gives paragon leggings with +1 energy regeneration. I cannot find that collector. Any know where it would be?

Much better than Factions preview. One can only hope the game will hold up as well as the preview seems to indicate. Trem knows the collector that you seek Fate, he is very astute like that.

Well I really really want Nightfall now, I even have my dervish's build all planned out already.

I was generally pleased with the quality of the preview. The storyline seems stronger and clearer, the scenery is gorgeous and detailed, and the new classes have a lot of potential. I really enjoyed the Dervish, once I was able to wield a max-damage scythe. Hammer damage and bleeding -- nothing wrong with that. The monsters have some very cool animations (like the burrowing mandrigors). There are a few rough edges, but I think this has been the strongest preview release from Anet to date. I'm looking forward to release.
Yes, there were TONS of quests, which is maddening for someone like me who wants to clear out everything. I need to learn to pace myself and spread those out a bit.

I did not have a chance to play much, and so I did not advance very far, but I enjoyed the PvE focus of this preview. The dervish is a more complicated class to play than I had anticipated, which is good and also bad. I'm not sure how many more brain cells I have to devote to GW. I'm still learning to play my Ranger and Mesmer properly for gods' sakes. I guess the game world is leaving me behind.

I played to the end of the primary quests, but did not complete all the other quests. I really liked the preview from graphics to storyline to game play.
The micro-management of the heroes has tremendous power. I expect some will play with multiple skill bars open at all times and be able to totally rock. The whole package around heroes is great. I'm very curious what advancements will be made from the community here.
On the quests, the only real complaint I had was constantly going from team size of 8 to team size of 4 cities. I spent time in a group with 5 human players and breaking up the team to collect on rewards was tedious.
Oh yeah, wasn't that warped green screen affect in the diggs cool? I wonder how much more of that will go on in the other missions.

I never experienced the warped green screen in the Digs mission. I must not have been hit with enough darts.

I saw it on Aangy's screen but did not experience it myself. It will probably end up annoying the crap out of me if they use it to much but it was kinda cool to see.
